Minmin Wei and Angelisa Osmond (M.Sc. Agriculture students) both won Student Scholarships at the Sea Farmer鈥檚 Conference (Jan 24-25th, 2019) in Halifax, hosted by the Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia.
Minmin won Best Oral Presentation on her M.Sc. thesis work, titled: Replacing fish oil with microalgae oil in salmon feed. Angelisa won Best Poster Presentation on her M.Sc. thesis work, titled: 聽Evaluation of genetically engineered Camelina sativa oil as a source of dietary lipid for Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
Minmin鈥檚 project is funded by the Ocean Frontier鈥檚 Institute and Angelisa鈥檚 project is funded by the Seeding Food Innovation fund from the Weston Foundation. Both students are under the supervision of Dr. Stefanie Colombo in the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture.
