For National Girls Learning Code Day last month, students and alumnae from Dal's Faculty of Computer Science helped girls across the country discover technology's possibilities.

Beginning this week, Dal Science professors, staff, students and alumni will hit the streets for "Ask a Scientist," a summer-long science outreach project designed to bring people together through their shared curiosity about scientific phenomena.

Students come to study at Dal from all sorts of places — even just down the hall. Science PhD grad Jennifer Frail-Gauthier and MLIS grad Brian Lesser reflect on their experiences completing graduate degrees while simultaneously working at the university.

From the Archives: Learn the story of James Stoker, who worked as part of Dal’s facilities team for over 40 years, supervised the Hicks Building (with his dog Hardy by his side), and led students to the Convocation stage from 1961-72.

More Dal buildings than ever will open their doors for Halifax's annual free event on Sunday, June 3, hosting cool, hands-on exhibits showcasing robots, motion-capture technology, the future of fitness and so much more.
