Drs. Jeff Dahn and Kenneth Wilson are two of 114 new appointments to the Order of Canada announced by her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada.

Dr. Lisa Barrett, an infectious diseases specialist with Dal’s Faculty of Medicine, organized a pop-up testing site at ÿÈÕ´óÈü this week that attracted long lines of young people — many of them students — in for free, rapid COVID-19 testing amid a growing second wave of cases in Halifax.

Throughout what has been a tumultuous year, Human Rights and Equity Services at ÿÈÕ´óÈü has worked hard to spur important public discussions about diversity, race and issues of inclusion — capping it off this Friday with a conference filled with timely panels and workshops.

As communities across Canada, including Halifax, adapt once again to a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, ÿÈÕ´óÈü is encouraging students, faculty and staff to renew their efforts to follow Public Health and university protocols designed to keep one another safe and limit the spread of the virus.

Mita Dasog, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, received the Emerging Professional Award at this year's Discovery Awards Thursday night, with several other ÿÈÕ´óÈü faculty and alumni recognized as finalists.
