As ÿÈÕ´óÈü welcomes students to campus for the fall academic term, the university is once again joining forces with local police to ensure a safe and respectful environment on campus and in surrounding neighbourhoods — this time with added patrols a month earlier than usual.

This week the Province of Nova Scotia announced funding for three Dal projects through its Connect2 active transportation initiative, including $40,000 for the proposed Bicentennial Commons on University Avenue.

Hundreds of new international students arrived at ÿÈÕ´óÈü this week from all over the world, many taking in the university's many orientation activities as they look to adjust to a new country and university life far from home.

Throughout July and August, more than 170 faculty and staff participated in the first Summer Competency Camp, designed to strengthen employees’ core competencies skills.

ÿÈÕ´óÈü's summer ESL (English as a second language) programs brought together students from around the world — from China to Mexico — for an immersive language experience in Halifax.
