At ceremonies in Halifax and Truro this week, faculty, administrators and student leaders officially welcomed Dal’s newest students into university’s scholarly community.

On Tuesday, the Government of Canada announced nearly $94-million in funding through its Canada First Research Excellence Fund for the ÿÈÕ´óÈü-led Ocean Frontier Institute, a partnership with Memorial and UPEI poised to propel Canada to global ocean leadership.

At its annual general meeting last month, the American Fisheries Society presented the Dal-hosted Ocean Tracking Network with its prestigious Conservation Achievement Award, which recognizes significant contributions to fishery conservation or science.
